About Cristina
Hello!
My name is Cristina, and I have been a language teacher for 8 years now. I come from the north of Spain, from a province called Asturias. I have been teaching Spanish online for over two years. My mother tongue is Spanish, but I am bilingual in English with a C2. I have also done the Goethe C1 exam (German) in 2020.
I have a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Spanish and English and a couple years ago I acquired a certificate from the Instituto Cervantes in "Teaching Skills of Spanish as a Foreign Language".
I consider myself a fun but methodical teacher. I like to follow a textbook because I believe it can help you feel a sense of progress and accomplishment, however, I usually bring other materials too. I know grammar and those long vocabulary lists are though and daunting, but I always try to implement everything we have learned into the lesson in more manageable ways, from the typical straight-to-the-point exercises to more fun and relaxed conversation. I also like to be practical and teach you things that you will actually use in a natural setting with Spanish speakers, not everything is in the books!

I always provide all the materials necessary, so you just have to show up! I consider that if you have the time, doing some homework is essential for bumping up the speed in the learning process. I usually reserve listening exercises and longer texts as homework for example, since they would take up a lot of time, and we want to stay productive!
