About Manie
I am a graduate of Spanish at university where I had the opportunity to live in Spain, studying and assisting in translation at the same time.
In addition to Spanish I also really enjoy studying other languages, and am also undertaking a course in TEFL in order to both learn more about language teaching methods and teaching English as a foreign language. Having been a language student for so long as well as being involved in translation and interpreting, I can understand and appreciate that everyone learns differently and at their own pace.
While studying I observed how teachers with a strong balance between practical exercises and conversational ones were the most effective at imparting the principles of the language in a way that cultivated natural speaking and writing skills and strong comprehension and communication abilities. Similarly, while translating and working with foreign language speakers, it became clear to me that in order to pass language exams and become a fluent speaker, immersion in the language is one of the most influential ingredients to success.

Grammar and comprehension is really important in improving language skills, but it takes more than studying textbooks and grammar rules to be able to communicate effectively. That's why in addition to revising the formalities of the language, my classes also provide guidance and reliable help for reading, writing, and speaking Spanish comfortably and with confidence.
From preparing for high school examinations/ GCSE Spanish, all the way to adjusting to Spanish at University, classes are tailored to suit the requirements of the student. Students can choose to either use the classes as a supplement to their school work or can use them to learn independently. (Copies of notes after each lesson will be provided to students to assist in their own revision).
After studying many languages and being a part of translation, undertaking TEFL and assisting in Business English for foreigners, I understand that everyone learns at their own pace and a relatable tutor can really help!
