About Maggie
I graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2019, and began working as a full-time emergency medical technician which I kept up through the COVID-19 pandemic. While working, as a way to have fun and let loose a bit outside of the medical world, I decided to take a flight lesson out of Norwood, MA. Fast forward 5 years later, I've instructed in the Boston area, have flown Cessna 172/150, Piper Archers, Piper Cherokees, and Piper Seminoles and now am a Boston-based commercial turboprop pilot on the Pilatus PC-12.
I love to make the daunting things about ground school make sense. I obtained my CFI (certified flight instructor), CFI-I (instrument instructor) and MEI (multi-engine instructor), and have experience teaching private, instrument, commercial, instrument instructors, and multi-engine students. Ground school can be VERY confusing, if you've hit a road block and need help getting past it, reach out to set up a lesson. First 30 minutes free so that I can get know where you're at and what you need help with.

For new students, I want to know what you're working on, having trouble with, and what your goals are. My goal is to be your tutor in helping you understand what is difficult for you, and to get you jumping over any roadblocks you have; but not to override what your primary instructor works with you on.
The first 5 minutes of every lesson will begin with a check-in answering outstanding questions you might have. Then, areas we cover will be dependent on the current ACS and FAA handbooks, including but not limited to: aircraft systems, performance, regulations, qualifications/airworthiness, airspace, flight planning, and normal/abnormal and emergency procedures. All lessons are tailored to the specific aircraft *you* fly (Cessna 172, Piper Cherokee, etc.)
I also offer specific lessons for the FAA written exams, which many students struggle to get done successfully.
If this sounds like a good fit, reach out and let's get started!
Review
All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience had by the students of Maggie.
Deadly! Maggie was fantastic during my son’s first session, and he absolutely loved it. She was professional, well-organised, and delivered the session in a way that was both engaging and enjoyable. Her knowledge is clearly extensive, and the fact that she is actively flying made her advice incredibly relevant and practical. It was great to see how she brought real-world experience into the session. We would highly recommend Maggie to anyone looking for a top-quality aviation tutor.
- Judah, I can already tell you are quick, and aviation can be a great career path for you. One of the really rewarding things is that it IS mentally challenging at times, but I can see you have the aptitude for it in a commercial capacity. Excellent job.Maggie's response :
Deadly! Very helpful and informative to help me understand what was needed from the study material.
- CFI can be tough, but you have a baseline understanding of what needs to be done. Build on that slowly but surely! I sent some lesson plans for you to pull from, chip away at it and reach out with any questions. Anything else I can provide (AC's, regs) reach out. Nice job in the lesson, the questions you asked were great - you're totally headed in the right direction.Maggie's response :
Deadly! I reached out to her to help refresh my ground school knowledge after being out of the cockpit for about eight months. I was feeling a little rusty and wanted to rebuild confidence before moving forward with my PPL training.
She has done an incredible job meeting me exactly where I am. She helps me set clear, achievable goals for each session and breaks down complex concepts into simple, practical explanations that truly make sense. I never feel overwhelmed — just challenged in the right way.
What I appreciate most is how she balances empathy with accountability. She understands the nerves that can come with getting back into flying after time away, but she also encourages me to push just outside my comfort zone so I continue progressing.
Our sessions have helped me feel organized, capable, and genuinely excited to move forward with my training again. I would highly recommend her to any student pilot looking to strengthen their knowledge and rebuild confidence.- JoLynn is clear on what she needs help with and asks some great questionsMaggie's response :
Deadly! Awesome ! Broke everything down nice and simple
- Jordan great job, excellent questions and you knew exactly what you needed help with. Keep working on slowly going through the NavLog - and again just start with 2-3 lines.Maggie's response :
Deadly! Maggie was very kind and patient during our first session. She explains concepts clearly and easily, and she shared great tips for approaching and understanding ground school topics. I really enjoyed the lesson and would recommend her.
- Ramiro asked great questions and was very engagedMaggie's response :

Maggie did a fantastic job of helping me understand the weight and balance issues I was having a really tough time with. I finally had that click moment and I don’t think I could’ve done it without her!
Recently I was looking for some extra help in my instrument phase and I was getting prepared to take my IRA exam. Maggie was super knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions I had. She also gave me great tips and told me what helped her when she was taking her own exams. Maggie is the best!
Maggie is simply the best. She is a great educator - friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. She is patient, thorough, and brings out the best in her students. She scales highly requested and favorably reviewed. Highly recommend.
Maggie is an intelligent and hardworking teacher who really knows her stuff. She is patient and approachable, and cares about the people she tutors. Flying is a serious pursuit and Maggie treats it as such. She moved through the ranks of her own schooling quickly and with high marks.
She is like Mike Vrabel in terms of teaching. You can tell she cares and wants the best out of you, but she’s also tough when she needs to be. A+ in my opinion.
Maggie is the best instructor I have come across! Her attention to detail, clear instructions and concise guidance is excellent. Highly recommend!
