My name is Shane. I've played chess as a hobbyist for 15 plus years. I love the game and play chess every day. I consider it important and beneficial in all aspects of life from problem-solving, emotional control, memory, and etiquette.

My tutorial methods are based upon your current level of understanding; I adapt my teaching to benefit my students. I like to make chess fun. Its a great way to improve your thinking both logically and creatively.
My lessons are for beginners of all ages (preferably young adults)
My typical lesson includes:
- Solving a puzzle based upon your ELO.
-Understanding the tactics of the puzzle
-Exploring various openings and tactics
-Analysis of historical chess games
-Discussing different chess playstyles and philosphies
