About Amy

I am a bubbly, friendly, professional primary school teacher. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I make learning highly engaging for every child. My teaching experience spans from Reception to Year 6. I connect deeply with children of all ages. I bring a vibrant musical background to tutoring. About the lesson

My tutoring methodology combines explicit, structured instruction with positive reinforcement to build academic confidence. As a current Year 1 teacher in Central London with five years of experience, I diagnose learning gaps quickly and tailor core literacy and numeracy concepts to individual needs.
Standard lessons last 45 to 60 minutes—the optimal window for maintaining deep focus in young learners. However, I offer a highly flexible approach, adapting session lengths and schedules seamlessly to fit around a family's busy weekend routine. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have successfully tutored a wide range of ages and ability levels. My daily classroom experience keeps me aligned with the current National Curriculum and equips me with proven engagement strategies to keep students highly motivated. My lessons target primary school students, specifically ages 5 to 11. Due to my experience across diverse learning needs, I easily cater to early learners developing foundational skills, as well as older students preparing for school transitions or requiring targeted academic support.
