About Daria
Since intermidiate school I've been learning Latin and Ancient Greek.
At the University of Moscow (MSU) I continued my classical studies and observed the language and culture from different perspectives.
Last year I was lucky enough to spend three months at the Accademia Vivarium Novum and took in the natural method of teaching, read a lot more ancient texts than the university schedule could provide.
Why Latin? Well, as Petrarca once wrote about himself - "Simul ante retroque prospiciens", an ancient language give us the opportunity to anylise our past, present and future following the ancient thought and example.

During my lessons I try to immerge myself and my students into language environment. We speak, describe pictures, read and discuss the passages of ancient pieces.
Usual plan is to start with Familia Romana by Hans Ørberg and to continue with original pieces of classical Roman literature icluding poetry and prose fragments.
I try to provide my students lots of excersices, additional texts and dialogs, maybe vocabulary sets.
The method I work with is about learning an ancient and considered dead language as a contemporary one.
