About Elza

I’ve been playing the flute for 17 years.
In 2023 I obtained a degree in modern flute performance in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of music (Riga), and during my academic tenure I went for an Erasmus program in Friedrich Chopin University of Music (Warsaw). Currently studying in Royal Conservatoire The Hague, specialising in Early flutes.

As I’ve been a student of flute nearly all my life, I’m gradually becoming interested in the learning-by-teaching method. I wish to strehghten my own knowledge by helping someone who is either only in the beginning of their journey in music, or accompanying someone more experienced, who needs some extra assistance.

I know how tough learning an instrument can sometimes be. In most cases any new skill takes a lot of time and patience, and in my own experience, having someone to ask for guidance, useful tips and someone to simply be alongside you for this journey can be life-changing!

About the lesson

I am a teacher who's main concern is sustaining the student's love and enthusiasm for the flute and music in general.
My goal is to help to stay optimistic and disciplined while working towards your next flutistic milestone!

My typical lesson plan:
Setting a goal for the lesson together;
Warm-up (not only on flute, but also doing some light stretches for better results in flute playing);
Working on a piece depending on your current level;
Evaluating your progress and setting a goal for the next lesson.

I am looking forward to working with enthusiastic beginner flute players of any age who need assistance in flute playing.
You must have your own instrument!
The lessons will be held in English.
