About Isabella
Originally from the UK, I have studied Latin for fourteen years and Ancient Greek for ten years. Through an intimate knowledge of these languages, I found beautiful pieces of literature hiding in Ancient alphabets. In 2022, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Classics from the University of Edinburgh. My dissertation explored the philosophical-satire 'True Histories', applying post-structuralist theories of authorship, narratology, and representation. After graduating, I made the leap to New York, where I have lived for the past year and a half. In January 2025, I completed my Master's degree in Classics at New York University, with a 3.95 GPA. I am currently preparing her PhD applications, where I hope to research Greek Tragedy, intersected with Greek Sculpture and contemporary Literary Theory. In my free time, I am an avid reader and creative writer. Film and art have also been lifelong obsessions. On the weekend, I am either at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or at an Angelika Cinema.

I recently graduated with a Master's degree in Classics from New York University. During my Bachelor's degree at the University of Edinburgh, I tutored students from middle school to college age; as I have studied Latin and Ancient Greek for many years I have an intimate knowledge of the grammar and literature of these languages. I place emphasis on grammar and syntactical practice; a typical lesson will involve some grammatical revision, simple exercises to better understand the syntax, and will be finished with translation. However, should you require a thorough revision of vocabulary, I can also help you discover study techniques. Before you know it, you'll be reading these languages like they're English!
