About Amy
I am a second year Classicist at Oxford University and play University Hockey. I am a keen singer, and also play the piano and flute. I achieved nine 9s at GCSE and A* A* A in my A levels. I spent my most recent summer in Northern Spain, learning the language and working as an au pair for two small girls.

My lessons are 45-60 mins, though this is flexible. In language sessions, I'd work through grammar and syntax with the student before applying these skills to passages of translation. For older students, this will include past papers in test conditions, and for younger pupils, I would focus more widely on the Classical world and incorporating fun tasks. For the study of texts, I will take students through the books, clarifying any issues that they have with work they're set at school, and focus on covering the basics of the text and literary techniques so that they not only understand their prescribed texts, but also can apply the same techniques if they take English further. I am able to offer tutoring for both Lit and Lang, depending on which area the student needs more support.
