About Dr Amanda

I have lectured at the University of East London in the Education and Language and Linguistic departments. I also supported the ESOL and EFL learners of English at the University and the non-traditional students who entered the University later in life and needed to develop academic writing skills. I have also worked in Middle and High Schools, teaching English and Humanities. In recent years, I have trained teachers in London, Malaysia, China and South Korea. This has given me a lot of insight into different cultures and student needs.

About the lesson

I started teaching English in 1994. From 1998 I have been heavily involved in teacher education and teacher training which means that I have a vast amount of experience to tap into. I have worked with children as young as four years old and supported adults through GCSEs and Undergraduate degrees. I am a published academic. My articles can be found on Google Scholar. This means that I am able to support students with research, referencing and academic writing. I feel able to work with most subjects, but particularly English, Psychology and the Humanities. I prefer to find a style of working that suits the client.
