I am a college music professor and professional musician with extensive experience teaching and performing in a wide range of musical settings. I work regularly with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced players, including college-level musicians. I offer upright bass and bass guitar lessons grounded in a fundamentals-driven, holistic approach. Lessons emphasize sound, time, technique, body awareness, and musicianship, with practical application to real music. Depending on the student, we may work on scales, harmony, reading, ear training, listening, and style-specific vocabulary. I adapt each lesson to the student’s goals, abilities, and learning style, working with beginners, returning players, and advanced musicians across jazz, classical, rock, funk, and more.
