About Aaloka

I am a skilled native English speaker, I have studied English Literature at A-Level, predicted an A, and achieved an 8 in English Language GCSE. I have strong reading and grammar skills with a passion for reading and creative writing. Last year, I volunteered for Bookmark Reading Charity where I worked with a child in Year 5 to improve her skills and confidence in reading. This means my teaching would be highly effective for students wishing to learn English from the basics, or wanting to improve reading and literacy skills. I will also bring a positive, encouraging approach to all lessons, encouraging you to try your best and improve, and for GCSE students I will put full effort into strengthening your knowledge of your set texts and boosting your grade. Due to my strong ability, enthusiasm and positivity, I believe I would be a strong choice as a tutor if you are looking to improve your English skills.

About the lesson

I am a native English speaker, I also took English Literature for A-Level and have recently completed my exams, predicted an A. I am able to teach English whether that is completely from scratch, literacy skills, proof-reading things, preparing for 11+ exams, or any level up to and including GCSE. I will bring an effective, enjoyable approach to teaching and my lessons will typically be an hour long but this can be adjusted if necessary. For students learning English from the basics, that would be a mix of listening, reading and speaking skills to help you build the foundations of the language. I will also ensure that there is a focus on vocabulary learning and tenses or time phrases. For GCSE students, I will focus on sophisticated analysis of your set texts and strong essay-writing skills. I also have strong grammar ability and would be able to proof-read anything. I can also help with CV writing.
