About Kaitlyn
I used to hate reading!!!!! Literature was boring, and writing was even worse. I found no joy in the world of English and never expected it to become such a large part of my life. That was, until I was given access to books that related to my experience and showed me that reading can be whatever you want it to be! There really is a genre for everyone, and I am here to help! The first time I wrote a short story, however, is when I officially decided to drop my major and switch everything to pursue English. I discovered the most magical thing- that if there is nothing out there that speaks to you deeply, you need to be the one to create it! That was three years ago, and every semester since has had me focused on literature, reading comprehension, and writing skills. I truly believe these skills are a gift, and it is time I passed it along!

As a current student, I know that it can be difficult to stay on track when what you are learning is frustrating- especially for kids. As an English tutor, my main goal is to show children that reading and writing can be more than just a useful skill, but something that can open up worlds of adventure through reading and creating. I work on grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. I can also do tailored lessons for reading comprehension, and am able to help with writing- whether it is for an assignment or as a creative outlet.
