About Yassine

My name is Yassine and I am excited to introduce myself as a dedicated educator with a passion for nurturing young minds, particularly in the realm of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Grade Level: Primary (Ages 6-10) Learning Objectives: - Students will demonstrate the ability to initiate and maintain a conversation with peers. - Students will identify appropriate and inappropriate social behaviours. - Students will role-play scenarios that involve making and keeping friends. Introduction - Begin by discussing what it means to be a friend. Use visual aids to illustrate the characteristics of friendship (e.g., kindness, sharing, listening). - Ask students to share their ideas about what makes a good friend. Write their responses on the whiteboard. Direct Instruction - Introduce the concept of initiating conversation. Use a social story that describes how to say "hello" and ask someone to play. - Discuss appropriate body language (e.g., making eye contact, smiling). - Highlight examples of friendly and unfriendly behaviours using visuals (e.g., sharing toys vs. grabbing).
