About Yiming
I am professional contemporary dancer based in Toronto, and I have a passion for sharing dance and movement.
I graduated from the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and also apprenticed in The Human Expression Second Company.
Projects that I have worked on include Tiger Princess Dance Projects, The Platform, JDdance, Danny Grossman dance company, Little Pear Garden dance company, Sharon B. Moore, Sashar Zarif and Jane-Alison Mckinney. I have also participated in intensives such as One Body One Career, Gaga, Alias Dance Projects and Springboard Danse Montreal.
I have been cultivating a small sharing practice since the Covid lockdown; with the purpose of connecting people to their bodies, I have an on-going teaching collaboration with Tássia Vasconcelos called ‘inCORPOre’ (concealed information)

I teach technique and movement through the use of ample imagery, spatial and somatic connection.
I breakdown dance concepts so they can be practice and understood easily, and dancers will be able to apply them with confidence. I modify content and material to the needs of the students, and they can be assured that they will not be left behind or deprived of the challenges they need to grow as a dancer.

Deadly! Our favourite part of the lesson was the improvisational part. Timing is obviously an excellent dancer and adopted his lesson to my son who is five. 5/5 rating-really great
