About Jon

I tutor across core LLB modules, LPC subjects, legal writing, problem questions, exam technique, and early-career commercial awareness. Whether you are preparing for an exam, drafting an answer, or trying to understand how the law applies to a set of facts, I tailor each session to your level, goals, and learning style.

My lessons focus on building the skills examiners and employers actually look for:
• Identifying the legal issues in a problem, rather than simply reciting relevant law.

• Structuring clear, persuasive answers using a logical approach.

• Applying authority accurately to facts, including distinguishing cases and recognising limits in the law.

• Developing confident legal writing, precise reasoning, and effective exam timing.

• Understanding the commercial and practical context behind legal advice, particularly in corporate and transactional work.

• Turning feedback into a repeatable method so you improve with every practice question.

Problem-based learning is especially effective in legal education because it starts with a realistic problem and requires students to identify issues, research and apply the law, and develop practical solutions. I use that same approach in tutoring: rather than passively explaining doctrine, I guide you through the reasoning process so you can reproduce it independently under exam or workplace conditions.

About the lesson

I help law students move beyond memorising cases and rules to analysing problems like a lawyer. With a First-Class Law degree from the University of Manchester, a Distinction in the LPC, and current experience as a Corporate Senior Associate in an international law firm, I bring both academic excellence and practical commercial perspective to every lesson.
