About Louisa
Having graduated from the University of York in 2019 with a History of Art PhD, I have taught at a number of Higher Education institutions. I have written about art for major publications and have worked on a major exhibition at Tate Britain: Conceptual Art in Britain 1964-1979. Bringing fifteen years of experience from inside and outside the classroom, I have consistently received positive feedback from my students. I realise that not everyone learns in the same way or has the same needs, and I pride myself on being attuned to each individual's learning requirements.
Although I specialise in History of Art and can teach the subject from secondary up to Masters Degree level, I can also teach English Language and Literature, Art and Design and History and hold a Foundation degree in Art and Design., specialising in Illustration.
Happy to meet in person or online, I am based in North London.

I was Louisa's PhD supervisor, so know her academic abilities very well. She's an expert in her field. She also taught for us in the History of Art Department at the University of York while she was a student, with excellent results. She's got a great range of knowledge across the arts, with longstanding interest in writing skills and lots of practical experience. She's patient, understanding and conscientious. A great tutor all round.
Dr Lee has been working at Fordham University London Centre as a part-time adjunct faculty for several years teaching US undergraduate study abroad students. Every semester she teaches "Art & Architecture in London"
I have observed Dr Lee in class and on gallery visits and have always been impressed by her teaching style, she is an excellent communicator and educator. She is extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about her subject. Her classes are well structured, and she has an excellent rapport with students. She ensures her classes are lively and interactive. She is one of our most valued faculty and is extremely popular with students. Her classes are always one of the first to be filled at registration time each semester.
Both in class and at faculty events Dr Lee is an active participant, and engages well with both students and other faculty. She clearly manages and meets the expectations of students as she always receives excellent feedback in semester evaluations as regards her courses and their delivery.
During lockdown and with the shift to online learning Dr Lee has been particularly diligent in supporting and guiding some of her students through difficult and challenging times. She has been extremely conscientious and solicitous in her approach and I have been most grateful for her ongoing care and attention to her students.
Dr Lee is a wonderful addition to the team here and also a very pleasant and personable individual. I recommend her to you without reservation. Let me know if you have any other questions.View more recommendations
