About Devon
Hello! I Graduated with a Creative Writing Minor in 2022. I've published a short story collection with eight short stories and seven vignettes and have published five more short stories with publications like the Mad River.
In total I've written over 50 short stories and one novel.
I want to teach so I can pass on the skills I've learned and because I love talking about creative writing and the art of storytelling!

My approach is simple: we read, we write, and we get better together.
Before each session, I'll give you something specific to read and something to write. You come to our session having already done the work. That's where the real learning starts.
When we sit down together, we dig into what you wrote and what you read. What's working? What isn't? Why? That conversation, grounded in your actual work, is where writers grow. Not from lectures. From doing, and then understanding what you did.
This is Active Learning in practice. Your writing drives every lesson.
