About Elizabeth

I live in Manchester, and write poetry, fiction, and for the theatre. I am passionate about language, and tutor a range of languages via Zoom (French, Spanish, ESOL). I am part of creative networks around North West England, and I regularly perform my poetry at events.
I have worked on many projects with organisations, most recently with The Portico Library on the Rewriting Manchester project, where I was commissioned to write new poetry about the city's history.
I previously worked in marketing, and was known as the proof-reader - my grammar and spelling are excellent.

About the lesson

Hello!
I am a working writer, who has been published widely, and won several competitions including the New North Poets Prize at the Northern Writers' Awards.
My writing has been published in journals including Antiphon, Confingo, Lighthouse, Magma, Popshot, and Under the Radar, and I have worked with organisations including Manchester Literature Festival, Manchester Pride, The Portico Library, Islington Mill, Oldham Coliseum Theatre, and Yorkshire Dance.
I love tutoring and running workshops, and watching students/participants find their voice and grow in confidence. Lessons will be based around you and what you want to achieve, whether you would like feedback on some poems, or inspiration to create something new.
