About Karla
Hi! I'm Karla from Zagreb, Croatia. I'm passionate about languages, cultures, and helping people connect through them. Teaching Croatian allows me to share not only my native language but also the stories, traditions, and everyday life behind it. I love meeting people from around the world and learning from them too.
Drawing on five years of teaching experience, including three years of teaching exclusively online, I bring together a strong academic background and practical classroom experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Transcultural Communication, a Master's degree in Language Education, and have pursued advanced professional training dedicated specifically to adult education in a digital environment. My lessons are well-structured, tailored to each learner's goals, and informed by current research on how adults learn languages.

We'll use textbooks to guide our learning, but we won't stop there. We'll also explore authentic Croatian through music, podcasts, books, videos, and other real-life materials. My goal is not only to teach you the language, but to help you experience how it's actually used in everyday life.

Just as importantly, we'll explore the culture behind the language. People don't simply speak different languages, they experience the world through different cultures. And culture is often woven into the language itself.
