About Monica

As a Professionally Trained Chef, Chef Instructor of Youth ages 8-18, Caterer and Nutrition Specialist I have worked in various settings as a Chef. From large Commercial Kitchens, to Restaurants, Private Homes, Backstage for Food Network Celebrity Chefs, Schools and After School Facilities.
I bring a passion for cooking, interesting stories, common core education and a high level of experience in teaching youth of all ages and ability levels to my role as a Cooking Instructor.
Several of my students have gone on to attend prestigious post secondary Culinary Schools, Internships at renowned restaurants and work as the head chefs of many fine dining establishments.
My Culinary Arts Competion teams won individual and group awards.
Most importantly my students have enjoyed their experiences learning to cook and continue cooking for themselves, friends, loved ones and strangers throughout their lives.
I have run several food related businesses over the past 20 years which has kept me learning and growing in this industry.

About the lesson

For over 20 years I have been teaching youth all about food: where it comes from, how to plant & harvest it, nutritional aspects, fun facts and how to have a blast creating spectacular & yummy treats from breakfast, lunch and dinner to desserts and appetizers. There’s a bit of Science, Math, English, Foreign Language, Art, History, Reading & Writing rolled up into each lesson! But you’d never know it! Classes are engaging, exciting and highly entertaining. I even host contests and help each student develop their own Menu for a Special Project of their choosing.
Parents will appreciate the common core lessons taught within each module and the enjoyment their kids receive learning. Youth will enjoy becoming a talented Super Chef!
