About Aagarsan
My name is Aagarsan. I will be going into my final year at university and I have been tutoring English Language and English Literature for around two years.
I’ve always enjoyed English because it’s a subject where there isn’t just one "right" answer, but rather different ways of thinking and expressing ideas. That’s something I try to bring into my tutoring, helping students feel more comfortable developing their own voice in their writing rather than relying on rigid formulae.
Alongside my studies at university, tutoring has become something I genuinely enjoy because it’s rewarding to see students grow in confidence and start to feel more in control of the subject. I understand that English can feel overwhelming at GCSE level, especially when it comes to analysis and exam pressure, so I focus on making things feel more manageable and less intimidating.
Having recently completed the same exams myself, I also understand what it’s like to sit in that position as a student, which helps me explain things in a way that feels relatable and clear.

I take a supportive and student led approach to tutoring, focusing on building both confidence and exam skills. I start by understanding each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and how they learn best, then tailor lessons to suit them rather than following a rigid structure.
In English Language and Literature, I focus heavily on exam technique, clear essay structure, and developing strong analytical skills. We break down difficult texts together, practise planning and writing answers, and go through model responses so students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. I also help with timing and confidence under exam conditions, which is often just as important as content knowledge. Lessons are usually 1hr 30 to 2 hours long, but I can adapt this depending on the student’s needs and attention span.
I am currently in my final year of university and have been tutoring for around two years, working with GCSE students to help them improve their grades and confidence in English. I achieved Grade 9 in both English Language and Literature at GCSE, and I use my recent experience of the exams to make my teaching practical and relevant.
My lessons are aimed at Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE students studying English Language and Literature, whether they are aiming to pass, improve their grade, or reach the top levels.
