About Ava
In my spare time I love to read, paint, and write creatively. I’m incredibly passionate about film studies and english and find that often the two subjects overlap in many areas (particularly regarding textual analysis at both ATAR and university levels). I graduated high school with an ATAR of 86 and during my bachelor’s degree I received multiple letters of commendation from the university dean for my excellent results. I have been recommended to pursue a master's in cinematography at the elusive WASA program, but it's always been my dream to teach. I’m also currently completing a certificate in TEFL so I can teach English to non-English speakers.

My name is Ava and I’m currently completing my master's in secondary education, where I will specialise in teaching english (including creative writing) and media studies. Having completed my bachelor’s in media and communications, I can also help students with practical assignments; these include photography work, short films and documentaries. As an aspiring teacher, I pride myself on being able to adapt to each of my students. Everyone has different learning styles and different strengths and weaknesses. It's my job to help identify those and work in conjunction with my students to help them succeed. I'm extremely patient and understand that not everybody gets things straight away, and that’s okay! It’s then my job to then take a different approach. Typically, my lessons run for at least an hour and I teach highschool and university (undergraduate) students.
