About Ollie
I am a second-year economic history student at LSE. with a strong passion for understanding the past through an economic lens. At A-Level, I studied History, Maths, and Economics, which gave me a well-rounded perspective on analysing historical events and trends whilst also being aware of the syllabus. My academic background equips me to help students bridge the gap between factual knowledge and critical analysis, skills essential for excelling in history exams. I am able to tailor lessons to different students and would provide extra help beyond tutoring such as marking essays.

As an Economic History student at LSE, I would tutor GCSE and A-Level history by focusing on connecting historical events to broader economic and societal trends. My approach would blend traditional narrative storytelling with analytical thinking, emphasising the interconnected nature of history. For example, I would help students understand how economic factors like industrialisation or trade influenced key historical moments, using case studies and primary sources. I would tailor lessons to align with exam specifications, providing essay-writing techniques, source analysis skills, and revision strategies. My goal would be to introduce critical thinking, helping students see history as interconnected and relevant to today’s world and achieve the desired results. I have had tutoring experience before for those at the GCSE level. My typical session would last for an hour for ages 12-18.
