About Yvonne

I have experience teaching in an informal setting. I was vice president of my college’s chapter of the Society of Physics Students, and we frequently did outreach programs to middle and high schools in the area. Making lessons engaging and interesting is what I do best, and I want to create an environment where you not only feel encouraged to grow, but motivated to do so.

Each student is unique, therefore every lesson plan is unique. We’ll find what works for you and play on that to help you develop your reading and writing skills.

Even if literature isn’t your passion, learning how to write well and properly communicate ideas is a skill that will take you far in life. Being able to analyze text and glean the deeper meaning behind words will also be a useful tool in your arsenal for the road ahead. There’s a lot that goes into learning how to write and read text, and I want to give you the best education I can in terms of it.

About the lesson

Hello!

My name is Yvonne, and I’d like to help you learn more about text analysis and writing. I’d like to tailor lessons to your own interests, selecting texts that align with your hobbies and likes in order to encourage engagement. The world of literature isn’t all Shakespeare and Gatsby, there’s so much more out there that isn’t covered by the public school curriculum, and isn’t taught broad general. I want to introduce you to these things that made me fall in love with studying literature, and help foster your understanding of literary works and give you the tools to discover your own unique gifts and talents.

I believe every student is gifted in something. I want to help you find your gifts and learn how to apply them, making it fun along the way to learn and explore the world around you with them and give you a chance to truly grow as a reader and writer.
