About Nolan

I am an incoming second-year student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, studying Spanish and Economics. I am also a member of the varsity Men's Basketball team at the university. Prior to Case Western, I went to Brookfield Academy for high school, the number 1 school in Wisconsin the last three years in a row, as ranked by Niche. At Brookfield Academy, known for its prestigious academics, I won the Spanish Subject Award, given every year to the student who best demonstrates and understands their skills and knowledge of the language. During my first year of college, I carried my Spanish skills with me through two 300 level courses in which I finished with A's in both of, furthering my knowledge and understanding of the subject. I am also a member of the varsity men's basketball team, and am a very vocal and coordinating leader on and off the court. Over the last 4 years, I have worked tirelessly as a baseball and basketball coach, as well as a summer camp counselor. Through my roles as a coach and mentor, I have developed strong teaching skills to best engage my students' attention. I love to have fun, and for that reason incorporate games and fun activities into lectures. I am an extremely hard worker, as I have managed to balance rigorous academics with high-level athletics my entire life, and will always prepare the most engaging lessons for my students.

About the lesson

The lessons are for all students k-12 who are willing and eager to expand their Spanish skills. I will help improve speaking, vocabulary, writing, listening, and so much more. If you are just getting started with the language, and wish to build a strong, solid foundation to have for the rest of your life and career learning Spanish, then you should learn with me. I have an extensive background in volunteer and community service work. I have served as a basketball and baseball coach, as well as a summer camp counselor. I work great with kids of all ages and I love to make learning fun and enjoyable. I like to really get to know my students, as I believe that the best way to help people learn is through building a connection with them. If you choose to learn with me, I will be more than a teacher, I will be a friend and mentor, someone who you can feel comfortable with. I like to incorporate many games and fun activities into my lectures as I believe that they are the best ways to stimulate learning for individuals. A typical lesson plan will include a fun way to start the lesson, such as a daily song or joke. Then we will learn the material and go through some practice. After, we will play fun games to better strengthen understanding, and at the end of the lesson I will ask what your favorite thing you may have learned was and why.

The first free lesson with Nolan will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

For a single 1 hour session, it will be $15. I will spend the first few minutes getting to know my students a little so that I can better understand their skills and learning objectives. If you wish to buy a 5 session pack, it is only $50 instead of $75, saving $25. Additionally, if you buy a 10 session pack, it is only $100, saving $50. I do not charge additional fees for online sessions or for travel for in-person sessions since I understand that some students learn best in person.
