About Sofia

As someone who has a passion for learning I am always ready and willing to figure out complex problems! Oftentimes it can feel overwhelming to not understand certain subjects, so I want to ensure you leave with a better understanding of its applications, not just memorization. Beyond school, I have a passion for fashion, funnel cake and capybaras! You can often find me studying for my next class in the McMaster libraries or treating myself to bubble tea!

About the lesson

I have worked as a program leader with the City of Richmond Hill for 2 years and have extensive experience designing lesson plans that are engaging for a variety of age groups. My lesson plans would consist of a brief discussion of the child's concerns beforehand and then covering content that directly addresses the root causes through examples and practice. Preferably the child comes in with questions before that can be addressed during the session. Due to my experience I can cater lessons for a variety of age groups including up to Gr.12. I typically focus on empathetic learning which means creating a comfortable environment for the child to then build rapport and ensure questions are properly addressed.
