About Harrison
Hey everyone! I am Harrison and it is nice to meet you all. I am currently an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I am majoring in Business Economics and Political Science with a minor in German. In high school, I was heavily involved in speech and debate, qualifying to the national speech and debate tournament twice and quarterfinal my junior year. I have had years of coaching students in speech and debate at the middle school level as well as tutoring students in subjects like geography.

Social Studies is undoubtedly a difficult subject for one to master and it can be confusing as it is not as straightforward compared to Math or Science for example. With this in mind, I try to simplify concepts in history and social studies concepts to make it easy for students to understand. This is something I already have experience with as I received 5s (The highest score) on my AP World History, AP US History, and AP Government exams in High School through self-study. A session with me will first start like a conversation, where I will identify the student's needs and strengths. From there, I will build out a customized lesson plan to truly take their skills to the next level. If a student has issues with learning about a specific concept, then I will use visuals and other learning methods to simplify the concept for the student. If they need help reinforcing their writing for the AP exam, then I will use my sea of practice prompts and experience to coach them on how best achevice their writing goals. With each session, I will build off the student's skills to truly make them more proficient in the subject matter.
