I approach tutoring as a way to mentor and motivate students, not just to teach content. I’ve worked with high schoolers on everything from SAT prep to challenging coursework in subjects like Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Computer Science. My approach focuses on sharing problem-solving strategies and flexible techniques that not only prepare students for the SAT or AP exams, but also equip them with tools they can apply to future tests—building both skill and confidence along the way. Whether working one-on-one or with small groups, I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and pushing themselves to learn.
I begin by assessing each student’s strengths and weaknesses to design lesson plans that directly address their needs. My sessions include a mix of past and possible future exam questions, targeted practice, and strategy-focused problem solving. I emphasize active participation by having students talk through their approach to problems, which helps reinforce understanding and uncover any gaps in logic. This method not only deepens their conceptual grasp but also sharpens their ability to apply different strategies under test conditions.
