DaVinci Resolve Colour Grading Basics -- Beginners - Intermediate Level | Passionately learning since 2021. Learning the differences between VFX vs Colour

Deadly! Johnson was able to adapt his teaching style to suit me as I knew nothing he was patient and was able to demonstrate how what and why to my understanding thank you Johnson

Deadly! I cannot recommend Johnson highly enough. From the moment I reached out, he responded immediately and with a level of professionalism, clarity, and generosity that is rare to find.

I came to him with an extremely difficult colour-correction problem: my live-music footage had burnt-in stage lighting and heavy colour contamination that was affecting skin tones, shadows, and highlights. It wasn’t a trivial fix — even seasoned editors struggle with this — but he approached it with both technical mastery and genuine care.

What truly impressed me was that he didn’t just “apply a fix.”
He walked me through the entire process, explained why certain colours behave the way they do under stage lighting, and demonstrated step-by-step how DaVinci Resolve handles colour shifts, hue channel separation, nodes, and secondary qualifications.

It turned into both a hands-on correction session and a practical mini-masterclass.

He invested real time and attention, analyzing the footage in depth, testing multiple correction paths, and making sure I understood each decision. The result speaks for itself: footage I thought was unfixable now looks natural, balanced, and completely restored.

If you need someone who is not only skilled but also:

- extremely knowledgeable
- patient in explaining technical concepts
- committed to actually teaching
- transparent about workflow
- genuinely invested in the success of your project

then Johnson is exactly the person you want.

Five stars is not enough.
This was the best post-production help experience I’ve had.
