About Laurine
G day!!
whatsup?
I am Laurine, 23 years old.
I am French and I'm in Australia at this time.
Let me tell you about myself. I know, it's boring...
(Let me tell you about myself. I know, it's boring...)
But it might help you and the adults around you to understand me a little better.
(However, it might help you and the adults around you understand me a little better.)
So, I'm addressing you (especially) and those around you (perhaps your parents):
I left high school with a science baccalaureate. I left for biology but matter didn't want me. So I turned to languages and I took a liking to learning them. English, Spanish, Japanese and Dutch. Obviously, of all these languages, English is the only one that I can teach. The Applied Foreign Language license, which I started at the University of Lille two years earlier, allowed me to gain a lot in grammar, conjugation and everything that can help with writing.
Yet I've only been in Australia three days as I write this and never have I learned so much just by talking. I am sure the most effective way to learn English and speak. I am surrounded by people of all nationalities and they all put me in my entrenchments so that I can make myself understood. I intend to do the same with you, because that's how you learn.
Do you know the accents of the English language? American, British, Scottish, Irish, Singapore even! but of all of them, the one I like the most is the Australian accent. Aussies (Australian) and their abbreviations. They put it everywhere! These Aussies are so much fun!
There was ! (Well done: good job!) You've come this far! Thanks for reading and be well!
See ya!

Salut ! Comment vas-tu ?
Talk! That's the golden rule I wish I'd known earlier. Three and four year old children do not learn spelling or conjugation before they speak. It's mimicry, listening, attention, memory. Above all, it's important to be able to repeat and understand what the other person says. Enriching the vocabulary and knowing how to use it is a first and great step.
As you know, I am currently in Australia. Aussies (Australians call themselves that) love small talk. A chat for a few minutes and a "see ya sarvo" ("see you this afternoon!") to end it. Nothing more, nothing less and yet, for a French person, this little chat makes all the difference!
My courses are aimed at secondary school students but also to the kids or adults who just want to learn this language. My courses are aimed to those who have difficulties to speak, to understand. Of course, as a good French person, I will give you some advice on conjugation, grammar and spelling (reading and writing) to help you arrange your sentences, but nothing too pompous. The interest is in the discussion.
As you may have already noticed from the title, I have obtained my deug, specialising in English for business. I still have a year to go to get my licence, which I'll manage to complete when I'm back in France.
As far as my methods are concerned: I am able to adapt to your needs. If you only want to work during class time, I will not give you anything to work on outside of class. The reverse is, of course, also possible. I rely heavily on discussion but if you feel that the academic side of English is slipping through your fingers and you really need it, then I will teach you my tips.
My classes are aimed at those who want to progress in listening comprehension but I will not stop there if you want to do reading comprehension and learning the basics of English. I can also teach children and school children who just want to learn, understand or want more guidance, and who might be struggling with the language.
Thank you for reading!
See ya'!
-Laurine.
