About Dana
I have taught English for over 6 years. I have a Trinity TESOL Certificate, a PGCE and a certificate of successful completion of my first year of teaching as well as a first degree in English from Warwick University.
I have taught EFL, ESOL, EAP, ESP and English language and literature to GCSE.
I have 7 teaching testimonials which vouch for my reliability, warm rapport with students, commitment to students learning and welfare and my reliability. I am conscientious and seek to do the best I can for my students and this has produced pleasing results.
I have helped students to pass their exams, attaining a 77% first time pass rate at Coventry University for the 31 students I had been teaching, a 100% pass rate at a university abroad where I was teaching English for medical purposes and a good pass rate for my ESOL students who I used to teach in Edmonton.
In one of my classes ( see photo), of the two students pictured, one student went up two levels in just 5 weeks from pre-int to middle int and the other student went up an amazing 3 levels from pre-int to upper int in the same time! I tested their progress made on the last day of their course and was amazed by how much they had picked up in just five weeks in intensive classes.
I have enjoyed teaching EFL and have been particularly fortunate in the warm atmosphere that I was told could be found in my lessons. My students have told me that they found me to be warm and funny and that they enjoyed my lessons. I think that makes all the hard work worthwhile.
