About Macey

Hi! I’m a guitar tutor with a Bachelor of Music in World Music and 4 years of teaching experience. My studies focused on Guitar Traditions while my playing grew through metal, shred, and progressive rock. These styles require precision and creativity. I enjoy teaching both.

Lessons are designed to develop speed and technical accuracy. Technique is always the foundation. Students practice alternate picking, tapping, sweep picking, and fast scale patterns. Each skill is built step by step.

I welcome both younger students and adult learners. Everyone learns differently. Lessons adapt to each student’s pace and musical goals.

Some students want heavy rhythm playing. Others want fast and expressive solos. Music theory is always connected to practical playing. Understanding scales and phrasing strengthens technique. Practice becomes more effective and enjoyable. Students quickly see improvement. With focus and patience, advanced techniques become achievable. Together we build speed, confidence, and expressive guitar playing.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons focus on creative lead playing and expressive soloing. Students develop skills in phrasing, articulation, and melodic development. They learn to shape solos thoughtfully rather than playing randomly.

Improvisation is approached step by step using scales, chord tones, and licks. Techniques like bends, vibrato, slides, and legato are practiced to add emotion and style. I show how small details make solos more expressive. Students also learn to craft musical phrases that flow naturally.

Some students focus on jazz improvisation and melodic exploration. Others are drawn to rock and blues lead playing with energy and attitude. I support both directions while helping learners develop their unique voice. Technique, creativity, and listening are strengthened through structured exercises and real examples. The goal is confident, expressive soloing. Soon, you'll be shredding with confidence.
