About Kelsey
My name is Kelsey Collins and I have been a special education teacher for six years. I love teaching foundational reading and supporting my students in their love of reading or helping them become better readers. -A typical lesson for students seeking foundational English/reading/phonics would start with practice in phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, reading, writing, vocabulary, and fluency.
-For students seeking comprehension skills I would incorporate the students state curriculum standards or provide a basic comprehension assessment to assess the level of need in this area. Our lessons would include background knowledge work, vocabulary integration, paragraph chunking, and paragraph shrinking strategies.
