About Maya
I am a friendly and supportive 11+ tutor currently studying at the University of Birmingham and graduating this summer. Having attended grammar school myself, I understand the 11+ process and the skills needed to succeed. I have also secured a graduate role in digital marketing at a FTSE 100 company, demonstrating strong academic and professional communication skills.
Alongside my studies, I gained experience working with children at a local primary school during my gap year, where I supported students in their learning and development. This helped me build patience, adaptability, and confidence when working with children of different abilities and personalities.
My lessons are personalised to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. I focus on building confidence alongside improving English, maths, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning skills through engaging practice questions, exam techniques, and structured support.
As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I understand that every child learns differently and I create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to achieve their best.
