About Kaia
Female, BA Williams, MBA NYU. I am a violinist, bass player, guitarist and synthesizer player who performs regularly on all of these instruments. I believe in teaching young children to play by ear first. Although Suzuki violin trained, I believe in teaching chord and scale theory at a young age, not just linear melody memorization. I enjoy collaborating on writing and recording original work with musicians of all ages and abilities. I believe music lessons can improve mood in people of all ages, including older musicians with dementia.

Most musical concepts can be taught using music you know and love, not old tunes from an era or genre you don't enjoy.
I can give you self teaching ideas so you can come to me only when you get stuck on something specific.
