Deadly! Jany is an outstanding Chinese tutor. She is extremely patient, well organised, and very easy to learn from. Her lessons are always clear and well structured. I especially enjoy her teaching style. She uses lots of visuals that make new vocabulary and grammar much easier to understand, and after each class she prepares a tidy review pack with clear notes and plenty of examples showing how to use everything we covered. I asked for homework, and she gives me translation practice that carefully uses the vocabulary from the previous lesson, which fits perfectly with the class content and helps me build confidence step by step. She is also very flexible, and everything flows neatly with her digital calendar and Google Meet setup, which makes scheduling and attending lessons really easy. Our lessons are so engaging that the hour just flies by! We really dive into the material and have a lot of fun learning together. I highly recommend Jany to anyone wanting to learn Chinese in a supportive and effective way.

Deadly! Jany is an experienced and highly skilled teacher who does a wonderful job in building rapport with her students, and establishing a fun learning environment where there is a consistent back and forth between teacher and student.

She is very good at contextualizing the lesson content in a way that is familiar with the student, through asking questions and providing phrases based on the answers given.

She is also great at identifying the skill level of her student and progressively increasing the difficulty lesson by lesson, and provides well formatted take-home material to assist with continued learning outside of her lessons.

I have only been learning from Jany for a few weeks, but I have already received positive feedback on my tones and pronunciation from native speakers thanks to her teachings. I highly recommend Jany as a mandarin chinese tutor, especially if you are a first time learner like me.

Deadly! Jany is always very prepared for each lesson. She not only prepares material beyond the textbook we are using, but also personalizes the lessons by taking notes of where I struggled. Next class, there tends to be a powerpoint where she expands on specific topics I struggled with.
