About George
I’m a francofone language nerd who tutors French to GCSE, A level and adult learners students for three years. I enjoy seeing their progression from hesitating to the glow of confidence and enthusiasm in their new language and proud of their ability. In just months or weeks, depending on the person.
I know what it takes to take you beyond rote memorising parrot fashion. To actually gaining satisfying degrees of fluency. Rather than just retaining a bunch of grammar rules. (As important as grammar is - up to a point.)
Because I have done this several times before, personally. Namely in Spanish, Italian, and Korean. (Although my Korean is currently dormant. But am currently learning Proto Indo European.)
I’ve learned several strategies and techniques from some of the country’s most able linguists. Some of whom I call friends. Linguists who speak extraordinary numbers of languages. [Hint: not one of them learns languages the way you were probably taught school French.]
Previously in my career I have sold advertising space, clothes, corporate sports hospitality [etc] in French, Italian and Spanish in the UK and into Europe.
