About Amber

I am an experienced Piano instructor with 10 years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have taught school students, college students, and working professionals who wanted to improve their Piano skills and musical understanding.

My teaching style combines structure, creativity, and flexibility. I create customised lesson plans that suit each student's goals and abilities, ensuring a positive and effective learning experience.

My lessons include piano fundamentals, scales, chords, rhythm training, sight reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation. I encourage students to develop both technical excellence and musical expression.

Apart from Piano, I teach keyboard techniques and music theory. I believe these subjects help students become well-rounded musicians with a deeper appreciation for music.

My goal is to help students build confidence, improve steadily, and enjoy the process of learning. I am passionate about supporting students as they achieve their musical ambitions.

About the lesson

My teaching approach combines communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and continuous improvement. I believe learning piano should be an enjoyable experience that helps students build technical skills, musical knowledge, and self-confidence at the same time.

Students first master the basics of posture, hand position, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. Once they develop confidence, they move on to scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedal techniques, sight reading, expressive performance, and performance preparation.

Every lesson includes demonstrations, practical exercises, listening activities, and regular revision. I encourage students to understand the purpose behind every technique instead of simply memorising songs. This helps them become confident and independent musicians.

Students are introduced to different musical genres to broaden their experience. Creative exercises such as improvisation, accompaniment, and musical interpretation allow students to express themselves naturally while improving their performance skills.

Besides piano, I teach keyboard skills, rhythm training, ear training, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, and beginner composition. These supporting lessons strengthen overall musicianship.

My aim is to inspire students to enjoy music, improve consistently, and develop a lifelong appreciation for piano and learning.
