About Fletcher
I am an experienced violin tutor with 16 years of teaching practice, working with around 300 students including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them grow in their musical journey. My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning simple, clear, and effective, as I believe students learn best when lessons are easy to follow.
I pay close attention to fundamentals such as posture, bowing technique, rhythm, and tone quality, ensuring strong skill development. I break down complex techniques into simple steps so students can learn comfortably.
I also guide students in building good practice habits that support steady improvement. One of my notable achievements is helping students progress into confident violin players. My aim is to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel motivated to learn.

My teaching style for violin is centred on communication, adaptability, and practical application of musical skills. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and abilities, ensuring both technical and expressive skills are developed.
I emphasise posture, bowing, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression while fostering creativity and personal interpretation. Real-life examples such as performing favourite songs, learning with accompaniment, and understanding music’s emotional storytelling make lessons engaging and relatable.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My goal is to create a structured, supportive, and motivating learning environment where students gain confidence and enjoy steady progress.
