About Lyndsey
Growing up in Austin with a military father and an educator mother, I was surrounded by service, education, and the importance of giving back from an early age. My upbringing shaped my belief that education is about more than academics—it is about developing the whole child. Throughout my life, I have been immersed in education and volunteer work, which has deepened my passion for helping children feel confident, capable, supported, and valued.
Early literacy holds a special place in my heart because strong reading skills create a foundation for success in every subject and throughout life. I believe that when children learn to read with confidence, they gain the ability to explore, communicate, problem-solve, and see possibilities for themselves. As an award-winning literacy educator, I bring that passion into every lesson, meeting students where they are and helping them grow both academically and personally. My goal is not simply to teach children how to read, but to help them become confident learners who believe in themselves and recognize their own potential.

Students should learn with me because I make reading engaging, accessible, and meaningful for every learner. As a district award-winning literacy teacher, I have completed the TEA 60-hour Science of Reading course and received several district awards for excellence in reading instruction. My distinguished T-TESS ratings reflect my commitment to effective, student-centered teaching. I have also led my entire grade level in reading, helping students build strong foundational skills, confidence, comprehension, and a genuine love for learning. Through online lessons, I meet students where they are, provide individualized support, and use proven strategies to help every student become a stronger, more confident reader.
