About Peter
I am currently completing a Doctor of Dental Medicine and taking part in clinical practice, where clear, respectful communication is essential when speaking with patients and working within a diverse dental team. Before dentistry, I completed a Bachelor of Medical Science majoring in Anatomy, followed by an Honors year in cardiovascular disease research at UNSW.
My academic journey has required extensive experience in academic writing, research, presentations and explaining complex ideas clearly. Clinical practice has further developed my confidence in oral communication and taught me how to adapt my language to people from different cultural, educational and professional backgrounds.
I want to teach because I enjoy helping students express themselves with greater clarity and confidence. I understand that strong communication is not only about grammar, it is also about organizing ideas, choosing the right words and ensuring that your message is understood. As someone who speaks five languages, I appreciate the challenges involved in learning and communicating across different languages and cultures.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they want to improve academic writing, spoken English, professional communication or general confidence in expressing their ideas. I begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then create a structured plan using practical exercises, guided feedback and real-life communication scenarios.
For academic writing, I focus on structure, clarity, grammar, critical thinking, argument development and communicating complex ideas in a professional way. For speaking, lessons may include conversation practice, pronunciation, vocabulary development, presentations, interviews and communicating confidently with people from different backgrounds. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and improving gradually.
Lessons are typically 120 minutes and are suitable for secondary-school students, university students, international students and adults seeking to strengthen their academic or professional communication.
I have completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and an Honours year in cardiovascular disease research at UNSW, both of which required extensive academic writing and presentations.
