About Etienne
Dr. Etienne Mutabazi is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Iringa, Tanzania, specializing in International Criminal Justice and Information Technology Law. He leads research seminars and lectures on Public International Law and Research Methods for lawyers. Mutabazi worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) from 2000 to 2012, where he was an Investigator and Defence Legal Assistant in four cases. He is also on the roster of pre-approved candidates' amicus curia investigators or prosecutors under Rules 90 and 108 of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Arusha and The Hague. Mutabazi has authored two theses, a Master’s Degree dissertation on The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda’s Approach to Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law and a Doctoral thesis on The United Nations ad hoc Tribunals' effectiveness in prosecuting International Crimes. He is widely published.

I transform my students into active citizens for the betterment of their environment, domestically, regionally and globally. My teaching approach is centred around the specific needs of the student and the community in which they live. I can teach in English, French and KiSwahili. Each lesson will have a new added value. Students can expect prepared learning material depending on the topic at hand during the lesson, as well as in-depth discussions and meticulous revision on all content that is taught. I am open to teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students. I particularly have a certificate to supervise at Master's and Doctrate level
