About Raphaël

I have lived in Paris, France for 18 years, and in the U.S for 9.
I'm proud to call Portland my home, but regularly go back to my home country.
I started teaching after graduating college and have now made it my full-time job.

Thanks to my 1-on-1 approach and consistent work, I have seen my students go from bumbling beginners to confident French speakers.

I don't just have the language skills, I have the life experience and cultural knowledge that only a French native can bring. And I'd be glad to share that knowledge with you !

About the lesson

My classes are immersive and personalized to each student.

I teach French through a combination of casual conversations and helpful slides. You'll learn new vocabulary and grammar while also practicing it in real-life context.

I'll also teach you everything you've wanted to know about French society, the French way-of-life, and the history of the country. We'll look at art, try out local foods, and discuss current news.

I teach beginner and semi-fluent speakers alike.- I'll meet you where you are, and propel you forward.
