About Colette
As a Flute tutor with 13 years of experience, I believe every lesson should encourage students to believe in themselves. I teach school and college students using a patient and supportive approach that makes learning enjoyable.
My lessons begin with breathing exercises, posture correction, finger placement, rhythm practice, scales, and tone development. As students improve, I introduce articulation, dynamics, expression, and stage performance techniques.
One of the most rewarding parts of my teaching career has been seeing students overcome challenges and perform with confidence.
Besides flute, I also teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, beginner composition, rhythm practice, and music appreciation.
My goal is to guide students toward musical excellence while helping them develop valuable life skills.

My teaching methodology is designed to help students enjoy learning the flute while achieving continuous improvement. I teach through Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity to develop confidence, discipline, and musical excellence.
Lessons begin with breathing control, posture, finger exercises, note reading, rhythm, and tone production. Students gradually improve scales, articulation, ornamentation, dynamics, improvisation, musical expression, and performance skills.
I motivate students by recognizing every achievement and encouraging regular practice. Communication remains simple and encouraging, making every lesson easy to understand. Integrity helps me create a positive classroom where students feel respected and motivated.
Creativity is included through rhythm games, favorite melodies, listening exercises, duet practice, improvisation, and performance opportunities. Besides flute, I also teach music theory, recorder, beginner keyboard, sight reading, ear training, rhythm practice, and music appreciation to help students become complete musicians.
