About Maimouna

Hello! My name is Maimouna (my-moo-nah) Diallo, but you can call me Mouna. I'm a recent Cornell University graduate, now residing in the beautiful Orlando area. Born in the United States, I'm blessed to call French my mother tongue. Thanks to my family and education, my fluency in the language has only deepened over the years.

At 22 years old, my passions extend beyond language; I love cats, have a green thumb for plants, adore baked goods, and thrive on meeting new people. More importantly, I'm here to make your French learning journey engaging and personalized. Whether you're looking to enrich your vocabulary, perfect your verb conjugation, or just need a conversation partner, I'm here to help you fall in love with this fascinating language!

Your Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching approach is highly adaptable and individualized, focusing on meeting each student where they're at. I employ a blend of traditional and interactive teaching methods, incorporating everything from structured grammar lessons to conversation practice. This ensures that you not only understand the technical aspects of the French language but can also communicate effectively in real-world situations.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson with me starts with a brief recap of the previous lesson to ensure retention and understanding. We then move into new material, which could range from verb conjugations to vocabulary expansion, depending on your needs. The lesson culminates in an interactive session, such as a conversation or a role-play scenario, to apply what you've learned. Homework assignments may be given to reinforce the concepts covered.

Generally a structure that has worked well in the past has been as follows: warm up, recap and feedback, new material, guided practice, an interactive portion then a wrap up.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
What sets me apart as a tutor is my flexibility and the personalized nature of my lessons. I use your goals as a cornerstone for our lesson plans, ensuring that what you seek to achieve is at the forefront of our sessions. Whether you're prepping for a French exam, planning a trip to France, or just want to improve your conversational skills, I can adapt the curriculum to suit your needs.

Who the Lessons are For:
My lessons are suitable for learners at all levels—whether you're a beginner needing to learn the basics or an advanced student aiming to refine your fluency. I am equipped to assist students of different ages and can adapt the material to suit the curriculum of degree courses, high school classes, or even specialized language exams.

By focusing on your individual goals and adapting my teaching methods accordingly, I ensure that every lesson is both engaging and effective.
