About Beth
I am an Early Career Teacher with a genuine passion for helping children learn, grow and become more confident in their abilities. I have always enjoyed working with children and find it incredibly rewarding to see them overcome challenges, understand something they previously found difficult, and take pride in their own progress.
I decided to offer tutoring because I believe that every child has the ability to succeed when they are given the right support, encouragement and opportunities to learn at their own pace. In a busy classroom, it can sometimes be difficult to give every child as much individual attention as they would benefit from, and tutoring provides an opportunity to focus closely on each child's specific needs.
I particularly enjoy supporting children with English, Maths and phonics. I understand that children can sometimes lose confidence when they find a particular subject challenging, so I aim to create a positive and welcoming learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again.
As a teacher, I understand the expectations of the primary curriculum and the importance of building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy. My goal is not only to help children improve academically, but also to develop their confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I take the time to get to know each child and understand how they learn best. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling that they have achieved something and are capable of achieving even more.

I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and confident. My tutoring approach is friendly, patient and personalised, with lessons adapted to each child’s individual needs, learning style and current level.
As an Early Career Teacher, I have experience working with primary-aged children and a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum. I can support children who may be struggling with particular areas, need to build their confidence, or simply benefit from some additional practice outside the classroom.
My lessons use a mixture of clear explanations, questioning, discussion, practical activities and targeted practice. I aim to break more challenging topics into smaller, manageable steps so that children can develop a secure understanding rather than simply memorising answers. I also use positive encouragement throughout lessons to help children recognise their progress and become more independent learners.
For English, I can support reading, comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing and vocabulary. I also offer phonics support, helping children develop their phonics knowledge, blending and reading skills.
For Maths, I can support children with number, calculation, problem-solving and other key areas of the primary curriculum. I focus on developing both mathematical understanding and confidence, giving children opportunities to explain their thinking and apply their skills to different problems.
Lessons are typically one hour, although I can adapt the pace and activities depending on the child’s age, concentration and individual needs. I offer both online and in-person tuition in the Teesside area.
My aim is to create enjoyable, encouraging lessons where children feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and celebrating their progress. Whether your child needs additional support, wants to strengthen their foundations or would benefit from extra challenge, I will work with them to help them reach their potential
