About Oluwafunmilayo

With a background in Early Childhood Education, I bring a hands-on approach to teaching, developed during my time at a project-based school where learning wasn't only fun but also practical and engaging. I’ve spent over 5 years teaching math, English and chess, and I’ve also had the privilege of working with Chess in Slums Africa, empowering children through chess.

I’m skilled in using tools like the abacus to make math accessible and engaging. I am also a certified educator with certifications in Instructional design and teaching which helps me tailor my teaching to each child. I focus also on kindness, patience, and professionalism creating a supportive learning environment that encourages students to excel.

About the lesson

I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education with over 5 years of experience teaching Mathematics, English, and Chess to students aged 6 to 18. My lessons are tailored to each student's needs and learning style, creating personalized curriculums that help students progress at their own pace.

In English, I teach writing skills, vocabulary, and punctuation, preparing students for year 6 SATs, Common Entrance, WAEC, and UTME. In Math, I use innovative methods like abacus math to help students become faster and more proficient, and I offer preparation for key exams such as SATs, WAEC, and UTME.

For Chess, I teach from basic to intermediate levels, using fun activities to make learning enjoyable. I’ve trained over 60 students for chess tournaments within a few months and cater to both competitive and casual players.

My lessons are fun and interactive, often involving games and problem-solving. A typical lesson lasts 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the student's age and needs, with one-on-one sessions to focus on individual strengths.
