I have been a teacher for 35 years. I specialized in Early Literacy because I passionately believe that learning to read is a right of every student. Early Literacy lessons are responsive to the learning needs of each student.
Early Literacy lessons include:
Teaching the phonics/spelling patterns students need. (Starting level determined by administering a phonics survey.
Applying the focus phonics skill to reading (decoding) and writing (encoding).
New vocabulary instruction to support reading fluency and, comprehension.
