About Stephanie
My name is Stephanie Darnell. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University with a focus on child development in May of 2019; I have taken courses in human development, child development, and child psychopathology. During my time as an EKU student, I participated in the honor's program and completed a thesis about autism stereotypes; I was selected to present my thesis at the Southern Regional Honor's Council in the Spring of 2019. I have also completed AMI Montessori Orientation training for ages 6-12, where I focused on the content taught during 1st-6th grade, and on the development of children in 1st-6th grade. Total, I have 2 years of experience teaching/tutoring reading both in a Montessori and a traditional school setting. In addition, I also have experience working with children with developmental disabilities both in a school and clinical setting.

My lessons are Montessori inspired and student driven. I not only want the students to understand the content, but I want my students to gain a sense of pride in the work they do. I have completed Montessori orientation training from American Montessori Internationale, and my lessons are for 1st-6th grade. I like to incorporate Montessori methods into my lessons, but can do more traditional style lessons as well. Lessons may include creating and completing small projects if the Montessori inspired methods are of interest to you.
